Welcome to the pages of nova/mera. This project, created by German DJ and producer Daniel Nova, is completely about music.
While I see a lot of DJs on social media who fidget around worse than someone with epilepsy and mix five different songs, acapellas, melodies and songs at the same time like the thoughts of someone with ADHD, I want to use my project to focus on what is important: the music.
I can’t call these performances DJing, because DJing is all about the music, not a performance that has been rehearsed for hours beforehand. The entertainment should come from the music, not the DJ. Once rehearsed, such performances become routine and shift the focus from the music to the DJ. Good DJs stay in the background and let the music take priority, which is why you never see the big names like Armin van Buuren, Tiesto, DJ Hell, Felix Kröcher, Solomun and co fidgeting like most “social media” influencers type “Hype” and so on.
nova/mera offers a safe space for exactly this kind of music experience. Whether it’s music releases or my DJ mixes. For me, the focus is on the music and not on my own jumping around or, even worse, the ADHD mixing of hyperactive influencers.
